June 11, 2022

Meeting call to order on June 11, 2022 at 5:45 p.m.

- Thank you to Jackie Rose for helping out with membership tasks
- Thank you to Vicki Bourbonnais for making up the nametags for all our members and guests
- 50/50 Drawing would be done after dinner

Remembering Ted Marshall
- Ted was an avid supporter of the PBIA and in particular the fireworks. He demonstrated this again last year when he donated back the 50/50 winnings to PBIA and asked that it be put towards the fireworks. He also was a great supporter of our community as seen by his conference room at Lyons National Bank and his company E&V Energy. Ted passed away last July and he is truly missed.
Status provided by Myrtle on the South Boat Launch
- South Boat Launch docks was installed on June 2, 2022 finishing the project.
Status on Weed Harvesting
- Weed harvesting will start in Sodus on Monday, June 13, 2022
- Weed harvesting will be done in Port Bay starting 7/18 through 8/5/2022
Culvert project at Beaver Creek
- 6 – 8 culverts will be placed and it will be dredged out
- Question: Are they going to pull the 2 floating islands?
- Answer: Cannot answer that right now Will follow-up.
- Will start Bever Creek project after Labor Day
- Culvert Project is federally funded
Graves Point
- Question: Is West Port Bay Road going to be widened?
- Answer: Graves Point will be widened from 7 feet to 8 feet. Scheduled to be done this Fall.
Channel Update:
- Improvement to West Barrier Bar road to North Boat Ramp are planned
- The plan for the pier to be encapsulated with new Steel sheets
- Widen channel a little bit
- East Barrier – using a technique that was done along the Atlantic Ocean
- Installing 2 breakwater sections
- Plans are to move stone from West barrier to the East barrier
REDI: Commissioned state-funded money of $5M for this project
- Lindsay from Wayne County could not attend this meeting
- Letter and Booklet with information on tables
- REDI Commission Project – All details can be found on the website. Includes West and East Barrier and Channel.

- July 3rd Ring of Fire at 9:30 p.m.
- Flares available at Gallo’s, Bob’s, and Toad’s
- Fireworks at 10:00 p.m.
July 4th Boat Parade:
- Jean Gumina is again managing this parade
- Line up at Noon at North Boat Launch
- Fabulous prizes.
Roof Top Concert
- July 30, 2022
- 3rd annual concert
- Charity will be “Wild Wings”
- Plans are the have some birds available at the concert
